FIGURE 2-7.-A portion of a land use
map (fig. 2-7(b)) derived from an S190B color photograph (fig.
2-7(a)) for Phoenix, Arizona. This map is an example of a Level II
and Level III land use map compiled at a scale of 1:100 000 for the
Phoenix test site. The markedly different geographical settings
(desert as opposed to vegetated landscapes) and the land use patterns
should be noted and compared with figure 2-8. (a) S190B photograph
