SP-400 Skylab, Our First Space Station

This diagram shows the wings and the five major assemblies of Skylab: workshop, airlock, docking adapter, solar observatory, and command and service module. The Apollo command and service module was the logistics vehicle, docking at the forward end of the docking adapter, which housed many of the experiments and provided a docking port. The airlock connected the docking adapter and the workshop; the latter provided the living and working quarters for the crew. The solar observatory was mounted on a structure above the docking adapter.
