SP-402 A New Sun: The Solar Results
From Skylab
CALCULATED TRACKS of total solar
eclipses, 1970-90. In these 21 years, only 14 total solar eclipses
occur and only two cross the United States. On the dates indicated,
observers located along the paths shown will see the Sun fully
eclipsed, but only for the few minutes when the shadow of the Moon
races over Earth. During these fleeting minutes, the corona can be
seen with ordinary telescopes.
