Figure C-8. High-pass-filtered version of figure C-5. A 101-x-101-pixel filter (300 x 300 km on Dione) was used on this image, thus subduing tonal variations covering areas larger than 300 x 300 km. Note also that midtones are uniform across the image, even near the terminator where the unfiltered image of figure C-5 is much darker.
