FIGURE 74.-The Apollo 16 Particles and
Fields Subsatellite. In the lower figure, the subsatellite is shown
in the folded configuration in which it is carried in the SIM. It
rests on a guide rail. On command from the CM, it is ejected from the
SIM and assumes the configuration shown in the top figure. It remains
